Neither Gabby nor any of his 'gabbyisms' are in either of these stories.

  "Old Timer".

Neither of these have any mention of Gabby.

  Fawcett comics.

However, his eyes are mere slits in every drawing.

Gabby's hat is less tattered than in the Fawcett comics or in the movies.

Gabby has a double-gun holster, which he never did in the movies.

Ambush at Terror Canyon

Riding on Corker in New Mexico, Gabby saves the life of Tall Owl, the son of a Comanche chief, by driving off some

Arapahoes that had attacked Tall Owl.

The chief had ostracized his son as he incorrectly assumed that his son acted cowardly when Tall Owl's mother was

attacked and killed by a mountain lion..

In the funk caused by his wife's death, the chief had neglected his leadership duties and allowed the Arapahoes to

steal most of the tribe's horses.

Gabby, confronting the chief with this fact, brings him to his senses.

Gabby hatches a plan for regaining the horses from the Arapahoes which are being held in (where else) Terror Canyon.

During the freeing of the horses, Tall Owl saves Gabby's life by waylaying an Arapahoe that was about to attack Gabby.

All ends well with the return of the horses to the tribe and the realization by the chief that his son is brave.
